Depression Support

Steady ground when everything feels heavy

Depression is not always sadness. Often it looks like flatness, fatigue, and a quiet distance from what used to matter, where getting through the day takes everything you have. You do not have to sort it out alone.

What depression can feel like

Low mood can be loud or almost invisible. Some people notice heaviness and tears, while others feel numb, irritable, or endlessly tired. Small tasks start to feel large, and things that once brought energy can seem far away. None of that is a sign of weakness or a character flaw.

People often arrive after months of pushing through, telling themselves it should not be this hard. Naming what is happening, out loud and without judgment, is often the first bit of relief.

How we work together

Therapy for depression is not about forcing positivity. We move at a pace that respects how little energy you may have, and start small. Using a solution-focused approach alongside CBT and ACT skills, we look for footholds that help you re-engage with daily life, gently examine the thoughts that keep you stuck, and reconnect you with what gives your days meaning.

Some weeks the work is practical, like rebuilding routine or steadier sleep. Other weeks it is about making sense of the harder feelings underneath. You set the direction, and we move at a rhythm that feels doable.

Moving forward rarely starts with a leap. Usually it starts with one small, kinder step.

Some of what we might focus on

Every person's version of this is different, so we shape the work around yours. Common threads:

  • Energy and routine: Rebuilding small, steady anchors in the day without pressure to overhaul everything at once.
  • The inner critic: Loosening the harsh self-talk that low mood tends to amplify.
  • Reconnection: Finding your way back toward the people and activities that matter to you.
  • Meaning: Looking at what you want your days to hold, even in small ways.

This is outpatient counseling, so diagnosis and medication questions belong with your physician or prescriber. If you are in crisis or worried about your safety, please use the urgent options on the crisis resources page; this is not an emergency service.
