Bipolar Support

Steady support that works alongside your care

Living with bipolar disorder can mean managing more than most people see, from the highs and lows to the daily work of staying steady in between. Counseling does not replace your medical care; it sits alongside it as a place to make sense of the experience and build a life that feels like your own.

Where counseling fits

Bipolar disorder is a medical condition, and its diagnosis and medication are rightly handled by a psychiatrist or physician. What therapy adds is the human, day-to-day side: understanding your own early warning signs, protecting sleep and routine, and processing the toll episodes take on how you see yourself and others. None of that means you are broken. It means you are carrying something demanding, and you do not have to carry it alone.

What we might work on together

Every person's experience of bipolar is different, so the work is shaped around you. It often includes:

  • Warning signs: Learning to notice your own early shifts in mood, sleep, and energy.
  • Routine and rhythm: Building the steady daily structure that helps ground the ups and downs.
  • Relationships: Repairing and protecting the connections that episodes can strain.
  • Self-understanding: Making peace with a diagnosis and separating it from your identity.

A diagnosis describes something you live with. It does not get to decide who you are.

A steady place to think

Alongside your prescriber, our work offers time to step back and reflect. Drawing on DBT and CBT skills, we look at practical tools for riding out intense moods and steadying the middle ground, always at your pace and in coordination with your medical team. Some sessions are about planning for harder stretches while things are calm. Others are simply about being heard by someone who understands the terrain.

This is not a crisis or emergency service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please turn to the urgent options on the crisis resources page right away.
